Hong Kong is divided into 18 geographic districts for administrative purpose, each represented by a district council that advises the government on local matters. The 18 districts can be split into three areas, often used for statistical purposes.
4 Districts in Hong Kong Island: Central and Western District, Eastern District, Southern District, Wan Chai District
5 Districts in Kowloon: Kowloon City District, Sham Shui Po District, Yau Tsim Mong , District, Wang Tai Sin District, Kwun Tong District
9 Districts in New Territories: Northern District, Sai Kung District, Sha Tin District, Tai Po District, Island District, Kwai Tsing District, Tsuen Wan District, Tuen Mun District, Yuen Long District
