Day 1 | Hometown - Beijing Top

Fly to Beijing from hometown. Cross the International Date Line.

Day 2 | Arrive Beijing (D)Top

The capital of China welcomes you! You’ll see your tour guide greeting you at the airport’s arrival lobby, then get transferred to your hotel for a good rest. A welcome dinner will be arranged for you in the evening (if your flight lands before 5 pm local time)

Day 3 | Beijing (B, L, D)Top

Your China tour starts today from Beijing which has served as the capital of five dynasties over a period of 800 years. Start your city tour with a visit to the Tiananmen Square, the largest public square in the world. Next stop is the Forbidden City. This complex is the largest and most intact conglomeration of ancient imperial palace ever built in the world. In the afternoon, continue to the Temple of Heaven, which was used by emperors to offer sacrifices to heaven and pray for good harvest in ancient times. In the evening, enjoy a fabulous Peking Roast Duck dinner. After that, return to your hotel or you have the option to join the Chinese martial art show- “The Legend of Kung-fu” at your own expense.

Day 4 | Beijing - Xi'an (B, L, D)Top

The highlight today is a tour to the astonishing Great Wall (at Juyong Pass). As the most famous image of China, it is the only manmade object visible from the moon and one of the Eight Wonders of the world. After lunch, see skilled artisans at work at a Cloisonné Factory. Later, visit the Changling Exhibition Hall of the Ming Tombs, where 13 out of 16 Ming Dynasty emperors were buried. Return to the city, walk along the Qianmen (Front Gate) Street and then have an up-close view of the beautiful Bird’s Nets and Water Cube, both of which are national stadiums built for the 2008 Olympics. You’ll also have an opportunity to visit one of the largest Jade Centers in Asia today to learn the Chinese jade culture and shop for authentic jade souvenirs. After dinner, take a soft-sleeper train to Xi’an at night.

Day 5 | Xi'an (B, L, D)Top

Your train arrives in Xi’an in the morning. Check into your hotel and get refreshed. Xi’an was the first Chinese city to open its doors to the world during the Tang Dynasty and the capital for eleven dynasties over a period of more than 2000 years. Visit the Terra Cotta Warriors Museum to see the life-sized defending army to the first emperor of China, Qin Shi Huang. This site is regarded as “the Eighth Wonder of the World” and is among the top archaeological excavations of the 20th century. Visit an Art Ceramics Factory and then stroll through the lively Muslim Quarter to visit the Grand Mosque and explore the Islamic food market. Enjoying the special Imperial Dumpling Banquet Dinner and traditional Tang Dynasty Singing and Dancing Show in the evening.

Day 6 | Xi'an - Luoyang (B, L, D)Top

 Visit the Shanxi Provincial Historical Museum in the morning. Enjoy a local special noodle lunch and watch an interesting Hand-pull Noodle Making Demonstration. After lunch, visit the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, the symbol of the city. Walk along the Ancient City Wall, one of the largest and most complete ancient military defense systems in the world. After dinner, take a high speed bullet train to Luoyang city. Arrive at night then check into your hotel.

Day 7 | Luoyang - Dengfeng (B, L, D)Top

Situated on middle land of China, one of the cradles of the Chinese civilization, Luoyang was one of the top Four Great Ancient Capitals of China and served as a capital for 5 ancient dynasties. Tour to the Longmen Grottoes, one of the finest examples of Chinese Buddhist art. In 2000 the site was inscribed upon the UNESCO World Heritage List as “an outstanding manifestation of human artistic creativity,” for its perfection of an art form, and for its encapsulation of the cultural sophistication of Tang China. After lunch, a short ride to Dengfeng city, where the Shaolin Monastery is located. Founded in the 5th century, the Shaolin monastery is long famous for its association with Chinese martial arts and particularly with Shaolin Kung Fu. Your sightseeing here also includes the Pagoda Forest, which refers to the 228 stone or brick pagodas built from 791 AD. Together with the Shaolin Monastery, it was also inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Watch an exciting Shaolin Kung Fu Show and then enjoy local cuisines for your dinner. Stay overnight in Xinmi.

Day 8 | Dengfeng - Kaifeng (B, L, D)Top

After breakfast, drive to Kaifeng, the capital of Northern Song Dynasty (906 – 1127). Kaifeng was one of the biggest political and commercial centers of the time. Visit the Iron Pagoda. Built in 1094, it is the best pagoda in China for its superb construction and elegance. Tour the Millennium City Park (Qingming Riverside Landscape Garden) to savor the prosperity and culture of Song China. The highlight here is the famous twelfth century painting by Zhang Zeduan of “the Qingming Festival by the Riverside”. This picture is a painted scroll which is about 17 feet in length and 9.5 inches in width depicting life along the Bian River during the Qingming Festival. In the evening, visit the Drum Tower Night Market where you’ll find many folk custom performances such as acrobats, puppet shows, cockfighting and even a marriage scene. You can also see exhibits of folk customs and traditional crafts from hand embroidery, displays of woodcuts to official porcelain and so on. You have the option to enjoy a tremendous culture show: The Dream of Hua in the East Capital of Song China, at your own expense.

Day 9 | Kaifeng - Beijing (B, L)Top

Drive to Zhengzhou and visit the Henan Provincial Museum in the morning. After lunch, take bullet train to Beijing. After arrival, check into hotel and free time afterwards.

Wave goodbye to China as this memorable tour comes to a close. You’ll arrive home on the same day.
